Book description from Goodreads:

Cheerleader Isobel Lanley is horrified when she is paired with Varen Nethers for an English project, which is due—so unfair—on the day of the rival game. Cold and aloof, sardonic and sharp-tongued, Varen makes it clear he’d rather not have anything to do with her either. But when Isobel discovers strange writing in his journal, she can’t help but give this enigmatic boy with the piercing eyes another look.
Soon, Isobel finds herself making excuses to be with Varen. Steadily pulled away from her friends and her possessive boyfriend, Isobel ventures deeper and deeper into the dream world Varen has created through the pages of his notebook, a realm where the terrifying stories of Edgar Allan Poe come to life.
As her world begins to unravel around her, Isobel discovers that dreams, like words, hold more power than she ever imagined, and that the most frightening realities are those of the mind. Now she must find a way to reach Varen before he is consumed by the shadows of his own nightmares.
His life depends on it.

My Review:

Isobel enjoys cheerleading, and of course has the football player boyfriend. She's happy and pretty carefree but one day the most dreadful thing happens, Mr. Swanson announces a special project for the class and he picks partners. Of course Isobel gets stuck with the so called King of Goths, from there it all goes down hill.
The first night Varen and Isobel work on the project, as she goes home something follows her. Calls her name. Chases her.
Then Reynolds starts coming into her dreams.
Then Pinfeathers comes into the picture.
Then Varen asks Isobel to a Goth Bash.
The night of the Goth Bash Isobel decides to tell Varen how she feels about him but as soon as they tell each other The White One takes him into the Dream World where Isobel must save him and free him.

I really liked this book. Its awhole lot better then it sounds! I love Gwen. She is very funny and this book has alot of funny new sayings. I thought with Isobel being a cheerleader she would be all into herself and think shes better then everyone else, but at first she kinda comes out as that but she quickly changes, her boyfriend Brad is a complete jerk. Varen is.... well... an odd ball. lol. I liked this book awhole lot more then I thought I would.

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars

------------------------------------
Sexual Content: Minor.
Cursing: Mild, most likely 20 words in the whole book.
Violence: I want to say mild, but last night I had a nightmare from it sooo I'll rate it, Moderate.
